2016 2017 Yearbook Cover Contest

2016 – 2017 Yearbook Cover Contest

We will be holding a cover contest for the 2016-2017 Del Lago Elementary Yearbook. The theme is MAKING WAVES.  We welcome submissions from all students. Our Del Lago PTA board will review the submissions and nominate 6 entries for judgment by the 6th grade class. The winner of that vote will appear on the cover of the yearbook! The other 5 entries will be featured in the yearbook itself.

ENTRY SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS

ALL submissions must be made electronically. We will NOT be accepting any physical submissions. Students may create their submission using any art form they choose, including acrylic, ceramics, chalk, drawing/illustration, mixed media, sculpture, oil, pastel, photography, and watercolor.
However, that piece of art must be photographed or scanned and submitted with the entry form.  Judgment will be made based on the appearance of the art in that photo. Therefore, we urge all families to consider how your child’s entry appears in the photo and not just in person. The PTA board will be making no changes to the submissions, including color adjustments or cropping.

RULES

  1. Entries must be submitted electronically no later than March 31, 2017.
  2. Current Del Lago students in grades Kindergarten through 6th grade are eligible to enter.
  3. All entries must be the entrant’s original, unpublished, and previously unproduced work. If the Del Lago PTA is notified that any element of an entrant’s entry infringes upon the rights of another person, the entry will be disqualified from the contest.
  4. Submissions must relate to the theme: MAKING WAVES.
  5. All students may submit 1 piece of artwork to the contest. In the event that the same student submits more than 1 piece of art, the first piece submitted will be the only one judged.
  6. Any submission that is considered by the Del Lago PTA at its sole and absolute discretion to be objectionable, in whole or in part, will be disqualified and will not be eligible for entry.
  7. DO NOT include your name on your artwork.

ART TIPS

  1. Your art NEEDS to be vertical (up and down), not horizontal (across).
  2. Make sure to leave enough space for the title of the yearbook. Do not include the name of the school or yearbook on your art.  This will be added digitally by the yearbook editors.
  3. Use bright, bold colors that fill the entire page; light colors will not publish well.

ELECTRONIC SUBMISSION

  1. Images should be no less the 8.5 x 11, 300 dpi, with the highest resolution possible; if measuring in pixels, 2550 px x 3300 px. However, it cannot be larger than 8MB.
  2. Fill out the form on this page.  You must upload the picture before submitting the entry form.
