INVENTION GUIDELINES

We are thrilled that you are interested in participating in this year’s science and engineering fair. Please read through all this information as there are important dates and items to consider while completing your project.
All projects are due and will be judged on June 3rd. However, the project will remain at school so it can be displayed during Del Lago’s Open House on June 4th. Winners will be announced on June 4th. Keep in mind that students must work independently at home on their projects.
Guidelines for the Invention Convention
  1. Students must work independently. The student must make projects and displays. Parents may assist and monitor.
  2. Your participation form must be turned in to your teacher on or before Friday, April 24, 2015.
  3. All Invention project boards are due on the morning of June 3rd in the multi-purpose room. At that time, you will affix a number to the front top left hand corner of the project board. The project board measurements should be no larger than 4 feet by 4 feet and be in a Tri Fold Display so that it can stand unsupported on a table. Displays must be made of durable materials.
  4. Heat, open flame, dangerous chemicals or explosives, may not be part of the display. Arrangements for electrical hook-ups should be made with the PTA the week prior to the Science and Engineering Fair.
  5. Do NOT put your name or your teacher’s name on the project board. You will be given a label with a number assigned to you to affix to the project on the morning of June 3rd in the MPR. This will be the only way to identify you until judging is completed.
  6. All projects will receive a participation ribbon.
